Rebekah Carlson

Rebekah Carlson has been singing and playing her violin for as long as she can remember; she made her vocal debut at the age of 2 at her grandfather’s church and began her violin studies shortly afterward. While at Wheaton College (IL) as a violin performance major, she caught the teaching bug and pursued extensive training in the Suzuki Method. Rebekah moved to beautiful Chapel Hill in 2004 and has a studio full of energetic students - she as especially enjoyed taking her students on tour to Austria (and looks forward to an Italy tour June of 2010!). Rebekah is also an active freelance performer, playing with the Carolina Ballet, the Opera Company of North Carolina and the Durham Choral Society. In her spare time, Rebekah enjoys cooking, watching movies from the 1930s - 1950s with her husband, reading, and walking her Great Dane/Lab mix, Miranda. A fun fact about Rebekah – you wouldn’t guess it from her calm demeanor, but she actually is a bit crazy – she enjoys Class-V whitewater rafting and has even jumped out of a plane!
